My Dad was a pilot ( not a fighter pilot ) when we were kids we spent a lot of time at small airports and would go to air shows. My brother Jim became a pilot and in my late 20s, I started to make these paintings. When I made this painting my three sons were babies. Today they are the same age as the brave young men who fought in the Battle of Britain.
