To work material safely, efficiently and accurately with hand tools you need to be able to secure it. Nothing more frustrating or potentially dangerous than a board that’s moving when you’re working it with sharp tools. It doesn’t require much money to get the best holding results. Just a little knowledge passed down from those who were doing it many generations ago.
So in prep for making boxes, cabinets, tables and art in this series we spend a class building bench appliances to help hold our work.
