Only hand tools woodworking – Simple Japanese style oak mallet. Sometimes you need a light hit, and you don’t always have a free hand to hit through the pad, so I decided to make a mallet with leather overlays. The handle is apparently made of sapele – a remnant of a parquet board. As always maple and walnut, the finishes are usually tung oil with carnauba wax.
