We wanted make CNC, flat pack furniture that didn’t look like CNC furniture, but needed some woodworking help. We visited our friend Johnny Brooke (https://www.youtube.com/user/craftedmagazine) and made this live edge coffee table. Johnny also made some live edge CNC furniture in the form of bedside tables! The challenge of making flat pack CNC furniture that looked like traditional woodworking was a really fun project to tackle, and we love how our mid century modern coffee table turned out. One of the coolest things is we got to use so many different types of tools doing this project: the CNC of course, but also a wide variety of power tools and even some hand tools!

This was our first time working with a slab, and now we want every piece we do to have a live edge! Haha but serious, it was really cool. We learned so much about processing the slab and the lumber, about how to match up two slabs to make them look like one big one, how to clean up our live edge, etc. This project makes us want to up the woodworking capabilities of our workshop and do even more builds like this. Hope you enjoy the how to!
