Hi everyone, A few weeks ago my wife and I visited the Shaker Museum in Hancock Massachusetts. If you ever find yourself in that neighborhood definitely drop in, it was a very inspiring visit. I saw this bench in the corner of the wood shop at the museum and decided to make a reproduction. I built my bench with Red Grandis because I had a few boards here in the shop. If I decide to build the bench again someday I will use solid cherry. Red Grandis is a decent wood and a good choice for exterior projects but not my favorite.
